The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildstreamergv_mimi, who goes by Mimi, completed the full game and beat the final boss by using a real-life ocarina to control Link’s abilities and moveset. The streamer has been using their vessel flute to progress in the game since March 2023, and they have finally defeated Calamity Ganon as intended.
Needless to say that it’s not an easy feat, given the streamer must control Link’s abilities and moveset by playing note by note without mistakes. They have been honing their skills with ocarina to move around and fight enemies properly for quite some time. Having figured out how to tackle the game’s dungeons and bosses, Mimi decided to complete the full game with this instrument despite being limited by how fast they can breathe into the ocarina. In long-running fights, the streamer was having a hard time controlling their breathing to stay still.

A little further out, the streamer was able to play Zelda: Breath of the Wild by mapping notes out on their real-life ocarina. Each note was programmed to control Link’s ability and movements, requiring a massive amount of concentration to avoid being beaten by the final boss. After over a month of trying, Mimi managed to take down Ganon using their ocarina during a live stream, sharing those moments via their Twitter account for those who missed out.
The trend of completing games or their challenges by using different tools as controllers, including dance pads and musical instruments, has been growing in recent years. The streamer, who goes by MissMikkaa, previously defeated one of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring, Malenia, using a dance pad as controller. Recently, Twitch streamer Swoop Douglas hasdefeated every single boss in Elden Ring using a Bop-It, which is a popular children’s toy with cranks, wheels, and flickable switches.
It looks like players will continue to show their creativity in completing video games by using irrelevant objects. Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been a hot topic in the last few weeks, withNintendo targeting a well-known Zelda YouTuber’s videos for promoting a fan-made multiplayer mode.
