Cult classic visual novel horror adventure gameYour Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority-will be released for Steam via early access on February 20, according to atweetpublished this weekend by Japanese developerNankidai. At launch, the Steam release will feature the full English script from official Your Turn To Die translatorvgperson.
While the announcement of the game’s impending Steam arrival was first made last year, the recent reveal of the release date has been met with a deluge of gratitude from the Your Turn To Die fan base. “OH MY GOD THIS IS UNDESCRIBABLE HAPPINESS,” enthuses Twitter user@moarmy_2- while another,@namorqui1, states: “I’m looking forward to this moment more than my future and career.”
Especially popular among fans ofDoki Doki Literature ClubandDanganronpa, Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- has carved out its own identity within the small but significant sphere of ‘visual novels about teenagers and murder’ through featuring a distinctive card-based voting mechanic not seen in its contemporaries. In Your Turn To Die, each character must draw one role card, and abide by the rules of this card during the voting period. Someone who draws the Sacrifice card, for example, must receive the most votes, lest they lose.
To lose the death game by majority vote is to die. Heavy on psychological warfare and debate tactics, Your Turn To Die requires players to make convincing arguments for the card they possess, and influence the majority into voting accordingly. Characters may choose to lie about the card in their possession, or act in generally dubious ways to deceive the majority - it is up to the player to unravel these falsehoods and unveil the truth.

Your Turn To Die -Death Game By Majority- was first published online as a free-to-play web game in late 2017, with only the first half of the game’s first chapter playable at launch. A serialized game released episodically in parts, the second half of the first chapter was made available on June 11, 2025. Successive installments have released in a similar fashion over the years since. At the time of writing, Your Turn To Die is three chapters strong, with the fourth and final chapter currently in development.
In 2019, an official, developer-approved English translation of Your Turn To Die was put forth by indie translator vgperson, who previously translated horror indie classicsIb, Mad Father, and Witch’s House. With the release of this free-to-playEnglish version, Your Turn To Die was catapulted to staggering celebrity online, enjoying a success favorably comparable to 2017’s freeware horror visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club.
