Hidetaka Miyazaki has made it clear several times howElden Ringwas one of his most extensive projects yet, allowing him to experiment with many mechanics he had in mind for a long.

This also includes allowing the player to transform into a literal dragon, something introduced in the recentShadow of the Erdtree DLC, and an attempt that is definitely an improvement over whatever was going on inDark Souls 3.

Through the new Realm of Shadow, you can now also literally transform into a dragon, a mechanic that might sound awesome at first but ends up looking a bit silly at the end, as pointed out by a user on the game’s Reddit forum.

All the dragon lore given in the Souls game is unasked for but is always welcomed by the fans, which ends up fueling the fire further for the renowned director, and as revealed in the recent DLC, these dragons often hold more than one trick up their sleeves.

In a surprising discovery, it was Bayle who challenged Lord Placidusax in ancient times, before ultimately ending up injured and fleeing to another realm.

In retaliation, Placidusax and other dragons of the time took human form and went around spreading theword against Bayle and his descendants, also referred to as ‘Drakes’ in the game, ultimately forming the dragon communion.
