Have you ever considered whatBloodbornewould play like if it was aThe Legend of Zeldastyled action RPG? WellYarntownis here to answer that burning question you had no idea you were asking, and the answer is a fantastic 16-bit title that expertly combines both franchises in a fun and unique mashup:
Yarntownis aZeldastyled top-down recreation ofBloodborne’s Central Yharnam area, complete with the Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne fights. The gameplay video posted above runs through both of those boss battles and the game itself was created by Max Mraz using the Solarus engine.
According to Mraz, the entirety of the Central Yharnam inYarntownis faithfully recreated, so there are multiple routes, unlockable shortcuts and all the majority of the different enemies – including the rabid dogs, the huntsman, the executioners, the rotted corpses and both the bosses (Cleric Beast and Father Gascoigne). Player’s combat skills are limited to a normal melee attack, a charged attack, pistol shots and a dodge roll – so combat is definitely more akin toZeldathanBloodborne, but it does keep some Soulsian things, such as the stamina bar.
