A reliable leaker may have just confirmed one of the titles that will be added to Xbox Game Pass in August. According to the insider, a popular franchise from 2K might launch on the subscription service for the first time.

Should the leak be true,Mafia: Definitive Edition, the 2020 remake of the series’ original game, will soon hit the service. This, however, hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. So far, only three titles are known to be added in August.
Mafia: Definitive Edition Might Hit Xbox Game Pass Next Month
Despite being immensely popular, 2K’sMafiaseries has yet to appear on Microsoft’s subscription service. If insider NateDrake is to be believed, this is about to change.
In acommenton ResetEra posted on Saturday, the leaker claimed thatMafiawould join Xbox Game Pass next month. When asked for specifics, they confirmed it would be theDefinitive Edition, Hangar 13’s remake of the 2002 original title.

Featuring 4K visuals, gameplay updates, and all-new content, theDefinitive Editionis an overall enhanced version of the first installment. A trilogy including the remake and remasters of the second and third titles launched in 2020 to commemorate the series’ 20th anniversary.
The informant didn’t specify when exactly the title would join Microsoft’s service and whether it would include the entire trilogy. If that’s the case, fans would get a chance to relive the entire series ahead ofMafia 4, which was confirmed to be in development in 2022.

Mafia 4 Is Still Nowhere to Be Seen
Fans of the series have been waiting for updates on the next installment since. Not much is known about the title, while rumors suggest it is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and set to be a prequel to the trilogy.
A few weeks ago, rumors about an imminent announcement abounded but turned out to be false. Should the remake launch on Microsoft’s service, this could soothe fans as they wait for updates on the next game.

As this is just a leak, it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. So far, only three titles have officially been confirmed to hit Xbox Game Pass next month:
Other leaks have suggested that theCrash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogymight get added to the library in a couple of weeks as well. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to find out if these leaks are true.
