The esports industry has seen an unprecedented amount of growth over the last five years. With the rise in popularity of streaming and the global pandemic still keeping people inside, plenty of eyes have been on eSports as a form of competition and entertainment.
Today, two major names in the esports industry announced that they’re parting ways, so what happened between Bandai Namco eSports and WePlay eSports?
Who is WePlay eSports?

Why Did Bandai Namco eSports Stop Working With Them?
While the exact reason for the split between the two companies isn’t officially clear, there are some clues that might help us figure out what exactly happened. While the announcement doesn’t bring up any specifics, it seems like the split is likely the result of WePlay’s recent partnership with 1XBet, an esports gambling company. Plenty of companies are uncomfortable with the inclusion of gambling in the esports space, so this may be one explanation. Remember to take that with a grain of salt, as it’s just speculation.
