The last time Christian Bale and Maggie Gyllenhaal came together on-screen was for Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster movie,The Dark Knight. So much so that the United States Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry in the year 2020. Christian Bale Teams Up With Maggie Gyllenhaal For Some Monster Magic
Bride of Frankenstein(1935) is a classic movie through and through. The science horror fiction movie was a direct sequel to the 1931 movieFrankensteinand is considered to be one of the best sequels ever made. Directed by James Whale,Bride of Frankensteinstars Boris Karloff as the Monster and Colin Clive as Dr. Frankenstein, while Elsa Lanchester features in the dual role of Mary Shelley as well as the bride.
Recent buzz on the Hollywood Boulevard is thatMaggie Gyllenhaalhas taken on the task toremakeBride of FrankensteinwithChristian Bale, Penélope Cruz, Jessie Buckley, and Peter Sarsgaard in the cast list. Though no roles have been specified, Netflix has roped in Gyllenhaal for the directorial position. Filming is supposed to start sometime later this year, and we can expect more news to surface soon.
