The acclaimed Hollywood star Jim Parsons seemingly channeled his iconic character while sharing updates about his attendance at the 89th Academy Awards. The actor, known popularly for his role as Sheldon Cooper inThe Big Bang Theorywas set to make an appearance at the 2017 Oscars forHidden Figures.

Starring an ensemble cast, including Janelle Monáe, Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Costner, and Octavia Spencer, the film earned three Oscar nominations, including for Best Picture. While Parsons was expected to join his co-stars at the prestigious event, a mishap nearly resulted in him being barred from the ceremony.

Jim Parsonswas likely thrilled to join his co-stars from the Oscar-nominated filmHidden Figuresat the 2017 Academy Awards. However, the night didn’t begin as he had anticipated.
Taking to Instagram to share updates about the night, he revealed that he was almost barred from the ceremony after he forgot his ID at home. When he returned to retrieve it, he was surprised to find himself locked out of the house.

The actor said in a now-deleted Instagram post, as perJust Jared,
Locked out of house without ID which, apparently, you need to get into the Oscars… waiting on someone to get here and let me in… Academy Awards, 2017… off to an auspicious beginning…!

Adding to the updates, the actor also shared a snap of his dogs inside the house. And in true Sheldon Cooper fashion, he humorously captioned the image,“Why didn’t I teach them how to work a lock on a door???”

Following over an hour-long ordeal, he was eventually able to get into the Oscars with the help of Melissa McNeely and was able to join his co-stars on the Academy Awards red carpet.

In a previous interview withVariety, Jim Parsons shared his experience working with ensemble casts. FromThe Big Bang Theoryto his powerful performances inThe Normal HeartandHidden Figures, the actor has consistently found himself working with strong ensembles.
When asked about the same, he said,“Maybe subconsciously. I do find again and again that the most rewarding things for me have strong ensembles.”

Talking aboutHidden Figures,the Emmy winner also shared that working on films based on true and significant moments in human history has left a profound impact on him.
Part of it is that they’re both based on true stories and hugely important moments in human history. And part of it is feeling the job of being an integral part of a machine telling the story in the ensemble.
