Stephen Collins’ fall from grace happened ten years ago when the Dad from7th Heavenfound himself the subject of a slew of accusations, almost 40 years after the matter. The actor would go on to talk to People Magazine, before sitting down with Yahoo to discuss his sexual misconduct.
Now, almost ten years later, as Stephen Collins has largely been absent from the public consciousness, the actor has resurfaced in what is reported to be Iowa. This would mark the actor’s first appearance in a long time, given that Collins would take to some of entertainment journalism’s biggest names to clear the nature of his misconduct, which was heavily speculated on. It came from a recorded therapy session which was captured without Collins or his therapist’s knowledge.
Stephen Collins confessed to sexual misconduct with three minors
In October of 2014, there were a slew of stories about Stephen Collins’ sexual misconduct. A recording was allegedly Stephen Collin confessing to his therapist about his misconduct with three minor females, in 1973, 1982, and 1994 respectively.

While TMZ’s article had allowed gossip and hearsay to germinate, Collins found it in himself to send a lengthy, official statement toPeoplemagazine, setting the record straight. Interestingly, two years prior to the confession, Collins was under investigation on these same charges. He said:
Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since. I’ve decided to address these issues publicly because two months ago, various news organizations published a recording made by my then-wife, Faye Grant, during a confidential marriage therapy session in January, 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist’s or my knowledge or consent.
Collins would find his career at an end after these accusations and his subsequent confession, essentially sending him away from the public eye. However, the actor would be found again in Iowa, living in relative recluse and solitude after the massive fallout from his actions.

As a part of theCatching Up With the Camdenspodcast, the cast of the show sat down to watch7th Heaven, as reported byVariety. The cast decided that they needed to talk about Collins’ involvement in the show and the subsequent issues that cropped up after the show ended. In a joint statement on their channel. While the statement denounced Stephens’ actions and reaffirmed the care that his victims might have needed. As a part of the statement, they said:
As we rewatch these episodes, it would be impossible not to talk about Stephen because he was such a big part of the show and our lives, but we want to be clear that we did not have any inappropriate experiences with Stephen.
The actor is largely keeping to himself these days, married to7th Heavenfan Jenny Nagel. There were no legal repercussions for the actor, but the court of public opinion seldom wants official charges to actually cause someone to leave the public eye and for good reason.
