It’s been a few years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their exit from the royal life. Since their exit, they have been open about several hardships and confinements they had to deal with inside the royal family. Markle has been the target of ridicule from many people, being labeled Duchess Difficult.
Markle talked to Mellody Hobson and Victoria Jackson on herArchetypes podcastabout her restrictive life in the royal family and being squeezed into a certain type of stereotypical role during her stay there. In addition to this indirect and clever dig at the royals, she claims that they did everything they could to ‘bury her’. She said,
“I was just chatting with my girlfriends recently and I was asking them for the show, what sort of archetypes, you think we should discuss and almost immediately unequivocally they all jump to difficult. “That’s the word you have to talk about, ‘difficult’.”
Some may try to squeeze you into tropes and boxes and the roles and stereotypes attributed to you, that don’t quite fit the full person that you are. What didn’t you do to bury me? But you forgot that I was a seed to that point.”

You know, Netflix repositioned it, so I think there is something to positioning on Netflix and when other things aren’t being made, it commands your attention, but it has to be great for people to watch it.”
