The Marvel Cinematic Universe tends to shock and surprise fans, and one way it does so is through fan events and panels. After revealing RDJ as Doctor Doom at the San Diego Comic-Con, the studio recently revealed more about their upcoming projects at D23 Brazil. While several exclusive details about numerous projects were revealed, it was Sue Storm’s hair from the upcomingThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsthat caught the fancy of fans.

Looking completely different from the earlier footage shown at the San Diego Comic-Con, fans are worried but for no reason at all.

Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm’s Hair Brews up a Storm

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios introduced the cast of theFantastic Fourat the San Diego Comic-Con. During that time, as is the norm, the studio also showed some exclusive footage to the fans, all filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio. While the footage featured some interesting scenes, set in a ‘futuristic’ yet retro 1960s, it also showed the test footage of our beloved Fantastic Four (viaDiscussing Film).

This time, at the Marvel Studios panel at D23 Brazil, aFantastic Four: First Stepstrailer was shown, which featured additional shots and several changes from the one shown at SDCC. One of these notable changes was the change in hairstyle ofVanessa Kirby‘s hair as Sue Storm. Featuring short and blonde hair with a hint of black in this trailer, fans have been freaking out over the change (seeX).

However, the hairstyle Sue Storm had in the SDCC footage was never meant to be an official one since it was only test footage filmed without the official look (viaComicBookMovie.com). But the one shown at D23 Brazil is Kirby’s official look as Storm since it appears they finally figured out the hair and makeup and refilmed the shots. Hence, the one shown at D23 is the one we will get to see in the upcoming flick.

The Fantastic Four: First StepsWill Be Set in a Futuristic 1960s

After announcing the addition of Marvel’s first family to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio announced that the film would be set up in a different timeline and back in the 1960s. However, since it is from a different timeline, the film might be set in the past but it has its fair share of futuristic elements, as seen in the footage revealed at SDCC and D23 Brazil.

Even Director Matt Shakman, while at the San Diego Comic-Con, revealed that the film based in New York will bewhat you’ve seen from the 60’s and something more(via Discussing Film). Judging from the footage, the film features several shots that make our version of the 1960s completely different from the film’s, from a retro spaceship to unusual high-rise buildings.

StarringPedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic / Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman / Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch / Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing / Ben Grimm, the film also stars Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Silver Surfer. Since the release of the recent footage, fans’ expectations from the films have risen, and we, too, can’t wait to dive deeper into the futuristic retro theme of the flick.
