Recently, the developers from Ghost Ship Games, the studio that madeDeep Rock Galactic,streamedHelldivers 2on Twitch. When they were asked why they were streaming that game, they admitted that they were trying to attract the attention of Arrowhead Game Studios sothey could talk about a crossover.
“We emailed Arrowhead a while back to say, ‘hey guys, let’s put our heads together and do something’ but we haven’t heard back from them yet via email so this is our next shot. We couldn’t think of any other way to do it than to play their game live on stream and say ‘Arrowhead, what are you guys doing? Please answer our email – let’s talk, let’s put our heads together and see if we can cook something up’ so consider this our little invite to you.”

This is indeed a nice gesture; it remains to be seen if Arrowhead Game Studios will ever reply. Of course, an ever-changing game with a dynamic world can no doubt add some new stuff, but it all depends on what decision the developers end up taking.
