The film has earned well over $350 million arising out of the domestic as well as worldwide sales. The domestic haul of $158 million, alongwith overseas collection in the range of $200 million, indicate that the movie isall set to rule the charts this year.
Made on a budget of $160 million, these numbers make it apparent that the movie has a shot at becoming the fans’ favorites and if, fate is on their side, cross the $490 million earned byWar for the Planet of the Apes.Though that is a discussion best left for the future, the movie has still managed to carve its place in Top 3 Highest Grossing movies this year.

It won’t be outlandish if the studio presses on with the plan and releases a sequel. The people at the helm would know better than following a fans’ opinion and tread cautiously. But the success ofKingdommight have emboldened them to take bolder calls. Only time will tell.
