Apex LegendsdeveloperRespawn Entertainmenthas announced some unexpected changes for the game’s Battle Pass, with the rework set to be introduced with Season 22. The upcoming changes have sparked massive controversy within the game’s community, as players vow to quit the game if Respawn follows through with the announced changes.
There are a lot of changes to go through, but one of the biggest reworks that has fans so heated is the removal of Battle Pass purchases with Apex Coins. Starting with Season 22, players will only be able to purchase battle passes with real-world money. Previously, Apex Legends' Battle Pass could be purchased for 950 Apex Coins, but the only way to purchase a Battle Pass after the upcoming changes will be with a real transaction of $9.99 USD.

Respawn has also confirmed that there will now be two battle passes per season. Yes, two! The second Battle Pass of the season will be released alongside the ranked split that usually occurs halfway through the season. But the catch is, once the second Battle Pass of the season is released, you won’t be able to continue levelling up the first one.
But to make things a little easier, Respawn will be reducing the number of tiers in each Battle Pass. Originally, each Battle Pass included 110 tiers, but from Season 22 this will be reduced to 60 tiers. While this might seem like there are less rewards to get your hands on, Respawn is including more rewards per tier.

There aresomepositives to the Battle Pass rework. As you can see from the chart above, players who take advantage of the free Battle Pass will now be able to unlock one epic character skin, one epic weapon skin, one epic standing emote, and more. There are also changes to the premium version too, such as the ability to earn 2,400 crafting metals as opposed to the previous 1,200, and an additional 3 Apex Packs.
Overall though, the community is not happy with the changes, and many are stating that they will be boycotting the game if Respawn goes ahead with these changes.

After being viewed over 4.3 million times, Apex Legends players are urging others to “vote with their wallets” and to not buy a single thing with real-world money once Season 22 begins.
Other playersare even saying this is “the last nail in the coffin” and that they’re completely quitting the game due to the Battle Pass re-work. What do you think of these changes and do you think Respawn will revert them before Season 22 begins? Let us know in the comments section below.
