We first heard of Werewolf: The Apocalypse—Earthblood back in2017when Focus Home Interactive and developer Cyanide announced that they have partnered with White Wolf publishing to work on the video game adaption ofWorld of Darkness – Werewolf: The Apocalypse.Since then, we know thatWerewolf: The Apocalypsewill be launching in 2020 and hasswitched to Bigben Interactivewho will be undertaking the role as publisher and distributor for the game and now, we finally get to see a short sneak peek at what lays in store for us in the wolf-invested reveal trailer.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse—Earthblood,which is based on White Wolf Publishing’s tabletop role-playing gameWerewolf: The Apocalypse,is set in theWorld of Darknessshared by theVampire: The Masqueradegames and even though we don’t know a huge amount about the game as yet, the trailer gives a good indication that it’s going to be rather tense, dark, and there are some really angry wolves - also the soundtrack that accompanies the trailer sets the mood nicely with Bones Exposed by metalcore band Of Mice & Men thrashing away in the background.
What we know so far is thatWerewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthbloodis an action RPG title in which players tail a werewolf called Cahal who has been banished from his lands for a long time and then decides to return to his endangered tribe. Endron, the oil-producing subsidiary of the multinational Pentex, is installing an extraction site and is destroying the forest around a sanctuary. As Cahal, you have the power to shapeshift when rage consumes you as you travel around the American Northwest.Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthbloodcarries over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper game in which players will encounter current topics such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines and how rage, which is the core element of this game, will challenge players on learning how to control it in order to make the most of it.
The trailer, shown off at PDXCON, can be seen below and hopefully, we will get to see much more of this exciting title in the months to come. As of now,Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthbloodis set to release next year for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
