Moreover, Gunn’s leadership also had many hoping that a DC vs Marvel crossover might no longer be a distant dream, as Kevin Feige also seems keen on a potential collaboration.
Kevin Feige Is Onboard With the Idea of a Marvel X DC Crossover
With both fans andKevin Feigenow banking onDeadpool & Wolverineto bring the MCU back on the map, the Marvel boss shared a keen interest in the idea of a potential Marvel x DC crossover. On asked about the possibility of seeing the two superhero brands collab on the big screen, Feige revealed they’ve been talking about it for too long now, and stated“We’ll never say never”.

However, as of now, they’ve no plans, which is reasonable as Gunn’s DCU is still in its early stages.
He said (viaCollider):
I mean, I think about it occasionally, like any fan would think about it. I don’t know when in the heck that would ever happen, or how that would happen. But we’ve been talking too long for me to go, ‘Never! We’d never be able to do that.’ We’ll never say never, but no, no plans.
The Marvel boss isn’t the only one, who’s excited about a potential crossover in the distant future, as former MCU director and present DC CEO James Gunn also shared a similar stance on the subject.
The Crossover Is More Likely Under James Gunn’s Regime
Prior to the release of hisGuardians‘ swansong, which became one of the few superhero films to hit it big last year,James Gunnentertained the idea of a potential Marvel x DC crossover. With the director now steering the ship at DC, Gunn shared that he is“certain that’s more likely now”.’

But similar to Feige’s comments, thePeacemakercreatorexplainedit’s still pretty far down the line, as before a crossover of that magnitude, they first have to establish the new DCU.
I think we have to establish what we’re doing [at DC] first. I would be lying to say that we haven’t discussed it. But all discussions have been very, very light and fun.”
While it’s not happening anytime soon, if both MCU and the new DCU continue to thrive in the coming years, seeing Superman taking on Hulk and Batman mentoring Spidey mightn’t be unlikely.
