Marvel’s Spider-Man 2was one of the biggest and the most essential releases 2023. The title was all the rage when it came out and was celebrated and appreciated by fans and reviewers alike. It also sold over 2.5 million units within the first release day.
The game will probably receive some Downloadable Content offering new content soon. The game was released as an exclusive for PlayStation 5 on launch. Fans who play on PC are waiting for the game to drop on the platform soon. Recently, a leak was first reported on a subreddit suggesting that the title might be released for PC as early as 2025.
Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 making its way to PC soon?
Initially reported as a post on ther/GamingLeaksAndRumours. The post shared the link for an anonymous 4chan board where a person who claimed to be a Nixxes employee claimed to have information about various PS4 and PS5 games making their way to PC soon.

Nixxes employee here, I know of some Sony games coming to PC this year: TLOU Part 2, God of War Ragnarok, Demon’s Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, Gran Turismo 7, All slated for this year. DS and GOT taking so long because it’s the devs first time making PC ports. Spider-Man 2 will come in early 2025. Sony is also discussing porting earlier games e.g. infamous Second Son to PC as well.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is the latest title in the lineup shared by the anonymous poster. Nixxes, for those unaware, was the studio that worked on both the PC ports forMarvel’s Spider-Man RemasteredandMarvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales.
TheMarvel’s Spider-Man Remasteredrelease date was November 2020 for the PlayStation 5 and June 13, 2025 for the PC. The timeline proposed above makes total sense. The only difference is that the game was a remaster of a title released in 2018 and all of the expansions released for it were released before the conclusion of 2018. So, that means that the game was already well beyond its exclusive lifecycle.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, on the other end, will probably get the same treatment from Insomniac in terms of DLCs unless something else is on the cards for the title. All of the expansion packs (if there are multiple) will probably be released in 2024. So, that means that the title might still be further away.
Having stated that, however, the fact that the Insomniac leaks happened and so much regarding the studio’s plans were revealed. Many of the studio’s private assets, including an early developer build of Marvel’s Wolverine and a texture-less build ofMarvel’s Spider-Man, were floating in the darkest alleys of subreddits. A set of modders also tried to import textures by dumping them from the official game files.
The project also saw a lot of momentum and footage from various stages of the developer build’s lifecycle, with some of the textures being imported. However, the person spearheading this activity, which is illegal since it is based on stolen assets, had to shut down operations.
But the story did not end there, as a full-fledged torrent link of the title was also floating around on various subreddits containing the dev build without textures. With so many of the game’s uncompressed files, including private assets, floating around the Internet due to the unfortunate leaks with Insomniac, it might prepone the game’s PC port.
It would be utterly deplorable if such arm-twisting were to force the studio to release a port for the PC. But on paper, it is not the most implausible circumstance to follow. There has been no update on the game’s official port releasing on the PC or whether it will be released on the PC. To generate maximum revenue after winning the console wars by quite a margin, it would not be uncalled for Sony to give the green light and release the sequel on PC.
