The second half of 2024 was graced by the release of Yukinobu Tatsu’sDandadananime series, which instantly became a fan favorite. Portraying the themes of occult and extraterrestrial elements,Dandadanhas managed to make quite a big fanbase, and the majority of the credit goes to the protagonists of the series, Okarun and Momo Ayaase.

However, not every character managed to impressDandadanfans and leave an impression on them. Aira Shiratori is one such character who somehow has turned the fans against her to the point where they even question her beliefs. According to the narrative, Aira believes that demons exist in real life, but fans don’t seem to care about her opinions.
But consideringDandadan’scentral storyline, rejecting her beliefs about demons in a world full of aliens and spirits feels a little too harsh. Thus, a bunch ofDandadanfans came together and defended Aira and her faith in the existence of demons in theDandadanworld by coming up with facts that would support Aira’s beliefs.

Fans’ hatred towards Aira inDandadan
Since the beginning,Dandadanhas introduced an array of contentious characters who, in one way or another, represent some sort of complexity within the story. Aira is also quite similar in this aspect because her introduction left a controversial impression on fans and forced them to hate her.
“We often lack profound or monumental goals”: The Real Genius of ‘Dandadan’ is Doing the Exact Opposite of What Naruto and One Piece Started
When she first entered theDandadanstoryline, she portrayed herself as an innocent child, but in reality, her devious personality wanted to become famous within her school. Thus, she would spread rumors or manipulate characters like Okarun to gain fame. However, her ruse couldn’t last for long as Momo instantly caught up with her malicious thinking.
Eventually, her character development in the story led her to become the ally of Momo and Okarun, but the hatred of fans towards herand her actions didn’t fade away. Thus, despite being one of the major characters on the good side, she has to bear the hatred of a huge chunk ofDandadanfans. Hopefully, this hatred towards her character will be reduced in the second season.

Dandadanfans questioning Aira’s beliefs are unjustified
As Momo believes in spirits and Okarun believes in aliens, Aira’s beliefs lie in the demon world. And being a self-centered character, Aira thinks that it is her job to save the world from the demons. Thus, fans’ hatred towards her as a character extends to her faith, making them question it and sometimes even reject it.
However, considering the central theme of the storyline,it feels a little unjustifiedto hate the idea of demons in a world full of all kinds of supernatural elements.

Watch as Tatsu actually makes this real and crucial to the story in future chapters.
If ghosts exist, the soul exists. If the soul exists, demons of one sort or another exist.Aliens are independent of all that.
Gonna go with Aira-chan! 😅
Its really funny to think aira could be completely right but we all assume she’s delusional.
Irrespective of all this, fans need to realize that Aira’s role is too crucial in theDandadanstoryline, and she is a very significant character. The second season will show her character progression as she discovers more about her powers and the mystical world she lives in.
Dandadanis available to watch on Crunchyroll.
