Call of Dutyplayers are expressing their frustration over what is supposed to be a “new” cosmetic bundle inWarzone 2. But, in actuality, many were quick to notice that this is simply a repurposed skin from the originalWarzone, which is due to be shut down in September.

Available via the in-game store for 2,400 COD points, the new ‘Tracer Pack: Butch Operator’ bundle includes two weapon skins and an operator skin in celebration of the 4th of July. However, as noted by CharlieIntel on Twitter, the weapon blueprint in the bundle looks nearly identical to the one that was originally sold in Warzone.

Fans were rightly frustrated, as Activision has stated in the past that players would not be able to carry over their purchased cosmetic items from the original Warzone into its successor. Call of Duty YouTuberHunterTVwas quick to express his frustration, saying “I own this blueprint in Warzone 1 I ain’t buying this again,” whilst another Warzone playersaid, “They’re not even hiding it anymore huh? Straight up reselling everything.”

The backlash goes on and on, with one userstatingthat this is a “common Activision L” whilst anothersaidthat the rehashed bundle should be “illegal.” Fans are rightly annoyed, as Activision announced last week that the original Warzone, which was rebranded to Warzone: Caldera, would be shutting down in September.

As such, this means all of players' purchased bundles would only be available in either Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty: Vanguard, or Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. However, as the original Warzone is a free-to-play title, it’s highly likely that many players haven’t actually purchased any of the aforementioned titles.

The studio has also said that it would not be possible for players to transfer any existing purchases over to Warzone’s successor, but with how easy it seems to be to resell the same cosmetic bundles, many feel as though they have been deceived.
