Vince McMahon’s Wildest Divorce Storyline Resurfaces Online
During a wild storyline in the WWE’s attitude era,Vince McMahon, in character, demanded a divorce from his wife Linda McMahon. Linda appeared as a neutral, rational, and selfless character on-screen, often thwarting the evil plans of Vince. In December 2000, Vince returned to WWF after a hiatus and began campaigning to cancel a Hell in a Cell match. However, Commissioner Mick Foley refused to cancel the match and Linda backed Foley.
This prompted an outraged Vince to demand a divorce from Linda. Following this, Linda was hospitalized due to a nervous breakdown, and an overjoyed Vince was reinstated as the CEO. In one episode during this divorce storyline, Stephanie McMahon confronted Vince, who insulted her and brought her to tears. Vince also gave a message for Stephanie to pass on to her mother.

The WWE co-founder informed his daughter that he would soon marry“a voluptuous Mrs. McMahon”who would“keep up with his s*xual prowess.”He also asked Stephanie to convey to Linda McMahon that the new Mrs. McMahon would be about his daughter’s age. While everything Vince McMahon said was part of the storyline, some fans were disgusted at the portrayal of a father talking to his daughter in such a manner.
