In the wake of the scandalous lawsuit against former WWE chairman Vince McMahon, fans have been revisiting his villainous character in the ring. An old video from the WWE’s attitude era has resurfaced on the internet, where McMahon is seen making sacrilegious comments to his daughter Stephanie McMahon about his impending divorce from his wife Linda McMahon. Some fans have alleged that Mr. McMahon’s behavior in those scenes wasn’t merely acting.

McMahon is currently facing charges of sxual abuse and sx trafficking in a lawsuit filed by a former WWE employee, Janel Grant. The lawsuit also named John Laurinaitis, the former head of talent relations at WWE, as a defendant, accusing both McMahon and Laurinaitis of engaging in depraved s*xual activities with Grant.

During a wild storyline in the WWE’s attitude era,Vince McMahon, in character, demanded a divorce from his wife Linda McMahon. Linda appeared as a neutral, rational, and selfless character on-screen, often thwarting the evil plans of Vince. In December 2000, Vince returned to WWF after a hiatus and began campaigning to cancel a Hell in a Cell match. However, Commissioner Mick Foley refused to cancel the match and Linda backed Foley.

This prompted an outraged Vince to demand a divorce from Linda. Following this, Linda was hospitalized due to a nervous breakdown, and an overjoyed Vince was reinstated as the CEO. In one episode during this divorce storyline, Stephanie McMahon confronted Vince, who insulted her and brought her to tears. Vince also gave a message for Stephanie to pass on to her mother.

The WWE co-founder informed his daughter that he would soon marry“a voluptuous Mrs. McMahon”who would“keep up with his s*xual prowess.”He also asked Stephanie to convey to Linda McMahon that the new Mrs. McMahon would be about his daughter’s age. While everything Vince McMahon said was part of the storyline, some fans were disgusted at the portrayal of a father talking to his daughter in such a manner.

In the wake of the recent lawsuit, some fans on X refused to believe that Vince McMahon’s actions were scripted in these scenes. One fan didn’t understand why people were“surprised”about the lawsuit. Another comment on X suggested that McMahon’s comfort with saying such things consistently should have been“a big indicator.”

According toWrestling Observer Radio‘s Dave Meltzer, Vince and Linda McMahon are“technically”married. However, Meltzer noted that the couple hadn’t been living together for a long time. The exact timeline of the separation between the McMahons remains unclear. This revelation surfaced amidst the 2022 hush money scandal, which forced Vince McMahon to briefly step down from his position at WWE.

Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon tied the knot in 1966 and have two children, Shane and Stephanie McMahon. After her career with WWE as its president and later CEO, Linda McMahon went on to pursue her political career.
