If you’ve pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Xbox, you can start pre-loading it – all 107 GB of it – right now.
Ubisoft has announced the global release times forAssassin’s CreedShadows, along with when those who pre-ordered it on each platform can start pre-loading it.

Pre-loading opens on Xbox Series X|S at 2 p.m. UTC on March 4, meaning it’s available now, on PS5 on March 18 at midnight local time, and on PC on March 17 at 4 p.m. UTC.
It’s worth noting that, in certain regions, the release times on PC will be different between the Steam and Ubisoft Connect versions. Fans onReddithave found that the game will first be available in New Zealand.

No Steam Deck, At Least At Launch
According toUbisoft, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not be compatible with Steam Deck “at launch” since it doesn’t meet the game’s minimum PC specs.
It seems like they’re leaving the possibility open for the future, but for now, at least, Steam Deck owners are out of luck.

Console owners, however, may be pleased to find out that the gamewill be able to run at 60fps at 4K on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows seems like it will be on the shorter side compared to some other recent games, namely Valhalla; according to Ubisoft, the game should take around 80 hours to 100%, or30-40 hours to complete the main story.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to release on March 20, butthe full game has already been leakedas physical copies made their way into players’ hands early last week.

Ubisoft responded to the leaks, saying that players should“stay in the shadows” about the game until its proper releaseand to be wary of spoilers.
Fans of the series may also be happy to know that the game will include a “Canon Mode” thatremoves major narrative choices, added in response to feedback from fans confused about which choices in recent games would be considered canon for the story going forward.
