This is a good thing happening to old fan-favorite Ubisoft titles, as players have a new reason to go back and hunt for some achievements.

It’s also worth noting that those who have earned the achievements of the said titles on Ubisoft Connect don’t have to go and earn them again on Steam.

Online-Specific Achievements Are Removed

Some of the achievements in Splinter Cell: Blacklist were tied to online services, which are gone by now as the game servers were shut down back in 2022. Therefore, Ubisoft has removed 19 achievements from the game’s Steam achievements, so that you would be able to fully unlock all the achievements even in 2025.

We hope this means that someone somewhere within Ubisoft still remembers the Splinter Cell franchise, and we might see a sequel sometime in the future. Well, that’ssomewishful thinking that we have!
