In an interview withCollider, he shared that he had plans for a sequel following Rod Tidwell, played by Cuba Gooding Jr. who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the film. He shared that he wanted to explore the story of Rod and his wife, Marcee Tidwell (Regina King) in the potential sequel.
“If there was ever going to be a continuing story about Jerry Maguire, I always thought it should be about the Tidwells,”he said before adding,“I always thought it should be Marcee and Rod.”
