Some scenes in anime can be pretty bloodcurdling. If you are looking for such scenes, then here are the coldest moments in anime history.
Anime shows are full of romance, action, comedy, drama, thrill, and all sorts of emotions. The character transformations that we see in anime Tv shows are far superior to anything we see in movies and TV shows. You never know when a character portrayed as a weakling shows their new form and surpasses all the other characters in that anime.

When our favorite anime character reveals their true self, it comes as a surprise, and we either start loving that character even more or start hating them.
Coldest Moments In Anime History
1. Killua Vs Johness The Dissector
If you have watchedHunter X Hunter, you can’t help yourself from loving Killua. He is a sweet and the cutest looking guy in the anime, but only till he is not freaked out.
Johness The Dissector is the mass murderer of Zaban city who doesn’t spare kids and women either. The moment his fight with Killua starts, it ends in the very next moment. It is revealed that Killua punctured Johness’s chest with his sharp nails and took out his heart, killing him instantly, an act of pure coldness.

2. Light Yagami Killing Naomi Misora
We think everyone will agree that Light Yagami is the coldest character in anime history. He’s one guy who even put his father, sister, and girlfriend’s life at stake for achieving his goal of bringing peace to the world; bringing peace by killing people, well-done, Light!
After Ray Penber’s death, his fiance, Naomi Misora, comes up with a great theory about the Kira case. So in order to eliminate Naomi, Light wins her trust, and after getting her real name, writes her name in the Death Note. Out of curiosity, when Naomi asks why he keeps looking at his watch, Light looks her in the eye with a bit of a smile on his face and says, that’s because ‘I’m Kira.’ First preparing for her death and then looking her directly in the eye with a smile, that’s what we call a cold moment.

3. Levi Ackerman Vs Beast Titan
Levi is a tough guy with an intense expression always on his face. We bet you don’t remember a single scene where you find this guy smiling. Yet we all know that Levi has a good heart and is always there to help his mates.
While the Beast Titan is eliminating Erwin and other soldiers, Levi makes his way to reach the Beast Titan, and then we see Levi in an entirely new form. First, he cuts down the Beast Titan’s hand, slashes both his eyes, then goes for his legs, making him fall on the ground, finally making several attacks on his nape and taking out Zeke from the Beast titan body. We have seen Levi fighting before, but how he dealt with Beast Titan was a cold moment.

4. Shanks Scaring Away Sea King
Shanks is one of the most reputed characters ofOne Piece. He has a soft heart and an amicable nature. The way he is portrayed, it’s hard to believe that Skanks can have a cold moment in the anime as well.
When Luffy is drowning in the sea, the monster known as the Sea King appears, and he is about to devour Luffy. But Shanks arrives on time, saving the little boy. Shanks loses his arm in the incident, and the Sea King tries to attack again. But that’s when Shanks starts looking all demonic. He stares right into the eyes of the Sea King, and his devil eyes, full of bloodlust, are enough to scare away the Sea King.

5. Zenitsu Vs Spider Demon
There are a lot of characters inDemon Slayerwho gave us some cold moments, but you don’t expect something like that from Zenitsu. He is the kind of guy who gets scared away from even the smallest threats. But once he goes to sleep, that’s when he comes to his true form.
When Tanjiro and other Demon Slayers are under attack from spider demons, Zenitsu is poisoned by the Son Spider Demon. At first, he is spooked by the demon, but then he goes to sleep, and the action begins. Several spiders attack Zenitsu at once, but he kills them all and then goes for the Son Spider Demon. And the next thing we know, the demon is decapitated by Zenitsu.
6. Kurapika And Uvogin
you may’t expect us to forget about the fight between Kurapika and Uvogin inHuter X Hunter. Uvogin is super strong, and he killed the three great Nen users, Porcupine, Rabid Dog, and Leech, without much effort. On the other side, Kurapika seems to be the complete opposite of Uvogin.
When Uvogin and Kurapika battle, it seems like Kurapika gets himself into big trouble. But then it’s revealed that Kurapika has set his Judgement Chain around Uvogin, which he is not able to break at all. Kurapika starts torturing Uvogin, making him spit blood and probably breaking most of his bones. Finally, he traps his heart in the Judgement Chain and squashes it.
7. Saitama Vs Carnage Kabuto
Karnage Kabuto is one of the strongest villains in theOne Punchanime. He knocks out Zenos quickly while Zenos is using his full potential. After Kabuto defeats Zenos, Saitama steps in to fight him. But it seems like Carnage Kabuto realizes the power of Saitama by merely looking into his eyes. Kabuto speaks in his mind that if I had attacked him, I would have got killed instantly.
Kabuto transforms into a new, more potent form and attacks Saitama. But poor Kabuto didn’t know that anything he’d do against Saitama would all go in vain.
Bonus Moment: L’s Funeral Scene
If this scene had been added to theDeath Noteseries, this would be the coldest moment in the history of anime. Light has been portrayed as a heartless person during the series, but what he does at L’s funeral is so evil that it even scares Ryuk for a moment.
Everyone from the Task Force leaves after paying homage to L. Light stays there with Ryuk beside him. Ryuk says that there’s nothing exciting left now that L’s gone. Light starts laughing out loud, and Ryuk is like, how the hell can he laugh at someone’s grave. Light gets down on his knees and starts claiming his so-called ‘perfect victory’ while looking at the grave’s cross. Watching this scene for the first time will definitely give you some chills.
