When James Gunn finally gave us the first look at David Corenswet’s Superman last month, some were less than thrilled because of the muted colors, which had to do with its lightning. Although it makes sense why this was chosen for the reveal, as it didn’t give away much details, fans were still craving for a look at the new suit in proper lightning.

Fortunately, a month after the reveal, fans’ wishes have come true, and following the new peek at the suit in broad daylight, fans are assured he’d have perfectly complimented Robert Pattinson’s Batman.
Fans Wish David Corenswet Shared the Screen With Robert Pattinson
From paying homage to Chistover Reeve’s Man of Steel to bringing back the iconic trunks and even incorporating the Superman symbol behind his cape, the suit seems like a dream come true for fans. Much likeThe Batman, which felt like a love letter to the character, similar seems to be the case forSuperman, who has yet to live up to his full onscreen potential since Reeve’s version.
Some also pointed out the contrast between Pattinson’s more practical and darker suit, which complimented his gritty world toDavid Corenswet‘s bright and cheerful one, which screams classic Superman. Following this contrast, it’s safe to say the two would’ve looked incredible together, as fans wish this was the case moving forward.

There’s still time Matt Reeves & James Gunn, I know yous can make it work.pic.twitter.com/ElXjIgYoOY
I can see this ngl

I agree with this
It bums me out that they have to do another Batman when they have this great one that totally works for what they want to do. The best thing about it is how it is both super comic booky and also just a great movie. More lore connecting to other stuff wouldn’t make it better.

While it’s not hard to see why thedecision to leavePattinson’s caped crusader unscathed from the connected universe was made, seeing them bounce off each other would’ve been something else.
Robert Pattinson on Potential Fantastical Elements inThe BatmanUniverse
Even beforeJames Gunntook over DC and established the new order, it was unlikely Matt Reeves’The Batmanuniverse would’ve incorporated a character like Superman. Considering how grounded the first film was, which was more of a noir thriller than a traditional comic book flick, adding fantastical elements to it moving forward was always going to be a challenge.
“Same vibes as The Batman”: Colin Farrell’s ‘The Penguin’ Recreates the Magic of Robert Pattinson’s DC Film By Borrowing Its Best Trait
ButRobert Pattinsondidn’t dismiss the idea altogether, as previously toldComicBook:
I love the idea of trying to figure out how make… We’ve been talking about how to get the fantastical elements because Matt’s world, his take on it is so grounded, and I’m thinking like, ‘How can you add…?’ Like, we were talking the other day, like, ‘Can you add Superman into it but he just doesn’t have any powers? He’s just a guy in a cape?’
Although it’s a shame the two will not share the screen in the DCU, maybe down the line when the multiverse is incorporated, we might see Corenswet and Pattinson together as the World’s Finests.
