As fans were eagerly waiting for more information about the release, the developers have now confirmed that the rumors were indeed true. In a statement toInsider Gaming, CD Projekt Red has stated that the physical disc version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be released later this month.
The disc version will be including the base game, as well as the critically acclaimed expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Apart from that, all the DLCs and upgrades that have been released for the game to date will be a part of this edition. This includes the recently released next-gen update which added “dozens of visual, performance and technical enhancements (including ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, a variety of mods integrated into the experience, and much more)“to the game. While many were expecting the physical version of this edition to feature some bells and whistles, CD Projekt Red has stated that it will come with a disc.
So far, the pricing and exact release date of the physical release are not known but considering the fact that it is not adding any extra goodies along with this edition, it shouldn’t cost a lot. In fact, reports have suggested that the price could be in the range of $30 to $35, which is quite a sweet spot considering that even the digital version is retailing at $49.99 right now, keeping aside all the discounts it gets from time to time.
