The highly anticipated ‘Infants’ update is coming toThe Sims 4on March 14, Maxis confirmed during the most recent’Behind The Sims' showcase.
Baby making has always been an acute fascination and popular feature within The Sims franchise. Until this update, however, newborn babies have been confined to their cribs and did not allow for dynamic gameplay options. That will all change with the coming update where they will constitute a new life stage for Sims. New infants will be fully customizable, more interact-able, and be able to navigate the terrain of your Sim’s home.

The showcased claimed that players will be able to “create their own little one.” Whether that means you will be able to exercise complete control over their features such as eye color or skin tone is unsure at this point. Clothes on the other hand are a different story. A wide range ofwardrobeoptions was shown off as part of the Behind The Sims live stream ranging from baby tuxedoes to catsuit and teddybear options, and many, many more.
They will also more closely simulate the experience of taking care of a newborn, with more fleshed-out takes on typical baby activities, such as bath time, breastfeeding, or even playtime. “Cute traits” were also promised in the stream. What this could entail is still undefined, but it sounds like infants will behave more like their older versions and react to your parenting more accordingly. Additionally, it appears they will interact with each other, allowing for even earlier playdates and enriching activities for your newborn bundle of pixels.
