Nexon Games’The First Descendantlaunched all the way back on July 2nd, 2024. It was one of the most hyped titles of the year, but its release was met with mixed receptions. The developer quickly began working on the game and brought new changes with season one.

A lot has changed since then, and the second season for the title is finally out. Nexon brought in a bunch of new additions that shookThe First Descendantfrom the ground up. One of these is a brand-new pet that completely outclasses what Blizzard has done with itsDiablo 4counterpart.
The First DescendantSeason 2 Void Chaser Brings a Dog Companion
The First Descendant‘s Season 2, codenamed“Void Chaser,”went live on December 5th. It brings us two new characters, Void-themed endgame content, story, and an ultimate form for Sharen.
The best part about this update? Well, it’s an adorable dog companion who helps you stay up to date with all the loot drops in the game. You can take this German Shepherd on your adventures, and he can get items for you faster by grabbing them. Not only that, he automatically dismantles items that don’t fit your needs.

The First Descendant’s Most Popular Skins Are Being Discontinued but the Policy Raises Concerns of Inducing FOMO Amongst Players
This dog comes with a number of outfits and looks. You can even do various interactions such as handshakes, petting, and high-fives! It’s clear that Nexon Games has outdone Blizzard andDiablo 4when it comes to companions in a video game.
If you’re unaware,Diablo 4lets you bring pets along on your adventures across the Sanctuary. However, they’re not as useful as the German Shepherd companion inThe First Descendant.

The pets in the Blizzard game can only grab nearby fallen materials and gold for you. While it’s great to get all the resources, you won’t be able to collect crucial weapons and armor with pets.
Let’s hope Blizzard can take a page out of Nexon’s book and finally make the pets inDiablo 4more useful with future updates and changes.

The First Descendantis Finally Bringing This One Feature
One of the best things about Nexon Gamesis the studio’s attention to community feedback and complaints. It’s a key part ofThe First Descendant‘s post-launch cycle, as the studio is always on the lookout for what fans aren’t enjoying.

Since the game’s reveal, players have been demanding a dedicated photo mode mode in the game, and it looks like their prayers have been answered. During its latestQ&A session, Nexon opened up about some features it has planned, including a photo mode.
After receiving multiple requests and questions about the feature, Nexon stated that the development team is actively discussing photo mode. However, it’s still undecided when it could be added. The feature is not a priority, but the studio wants to please the entire community, so it won’t miss adding this.

It’s not just a photo mode; Nexon is also planning to bring a pity system for loot drops in the game, which will provide players with a way to obtain rare resources.
