The second season of The Eminence In Shadow has been officially confirmed. Although no release date has been set for the premiere of the new season, reliable leakers have revealed that the second season is expected to consist of 12 episodes.Following the conclusion of season one earlier this year, a special live stream was announced with fans speculating that a second season would be confirmed. Details on the upcoming season are currently scarce, but it has been confirmed that Season 2 will bring back all the previous staff, including Makoto Lino for the character design, Kanichi Katou for the series' composition, Kazuya Nakanishi in the director seat, and Nexus as the animation studio.

A small preview trailer has also been released on the official YouTube channel of KADOKAWAanime to commemorate the announcement, which definitely teases a terrifying plot. New treats for the Shadow Garden seem to arrive in the form of zombie attacks. Most notably, the animation looks even better than in the first season. The Eminence In Shadow is based on the light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa, which runs around the life of a boy named Cid Kagenou, who always idealized the heroes working in the shadows. An unfortunate incident killed Cid, after which he was born into a new magical world where he used his immense knowledge and strength to become the greatest shadow hero the world has ever seen.
