Science SARU has been doing an incredible job at animating theDandadananime. Not only is it paying proper respect to Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga, but the studio is going above and beyond to do the series justice with original elements that add to the charm ofDandadan.

While most manga-turned-anime adaptations suffer from pacing issues or skipping plot points, Science SARU has made sure thatDandadanwould get no ill treatment. In fact, it is quite rare to find a series with which fans have little to no complaints. Every week, the studio pumps out one extraordinary episode after another as fans gladly dissect its elements.

Dandadananime might surpass Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga with its latest original addition

Episode 9 ofDandadanshowed Momo, Okarun, and Aira resist the attacks from the Serpos, as well as Mr. Mantis Shrimp and Nessie. It was a tough battle, but the heroes emerged as the winners of the bout. (Thoughthey had to sacrifice their integrityin the end).

Fans Crown Yukinobu Tatsu As “One of the best new gen manga authors” After the Impossible Stunt Dandadan Episode 11 Managed to Pull

In one of the scenes, Momo is caught between the Serpo Dover Demon Nessie’s teeth as it plunges underwater to drown her. However, Okarun cannot help her unless there is a path he can follow to reach her. Aira uses her Acrobatic Silky hair to create a path for Okarun to reach Momo. In the manga, Momo is in no position to help Okarun and Aira reach her.

However, in the anime, the studio added an additional detail. Momo used her psychic powers to grab Aira’s hair to strengthen Okarun’s path. Okarun took advantage of this and used the hair as a track to propel himself towards Momo, eventually saving her. This original detail made fans appreciate the anime even more as it helped explain an otherwise confusing scene. Additionally, it also expanded on Momo’s powers.

Dandadananime gained praise over the animation of Acrobatic Silky’s past

Extending Momo’s powers is not the first time that Science SARU has done an outstanding job of explaining the manga. Just two episodes ago, the anime showed thebackstory of Acrobatic Silky. When she was a human, she was living in poverty and working two or three jobs, which included being a pros*itute. The only light of her life was her daughter, who was snatched away from her one night.

Episode 7 opened with an unknown person running hither either on an empty street trying to search for something. As the episode progressed, viewers figured out that it was actually Silky trying to find her kidnapped daughter. The desperationin the first-person POV scene was apparent through the screen, and it was a great addition to the episode.

On top of that, the anime also beautifully portrayed Silky’s last dance before she killed herself. While only one or two manga panels were dedicated to her last dance, the anime created a whole ballet sequence to show a woman who has lost all will to live. In the end, fans were highly impressed by the studio’s dedication toDandadan.

TheDandadanmanga is available to read on Viz Media, and the anime is currently airing on Crunchyroll.
