Compared to Erik Kripke’s work onThe Boys, Supernatural is more on the lighter side of things with its theme and drama, which is reasonable as it was a CW show. However, this didn’t stop the writers from occasionally pushing the Jensen Ackles-led show a bit too far, which makes sense as the premise revolved around Winchester’s hunt for supernatural entities.

Interestingly, one bizarre yet hilarious death of one supernatural entity arrived in season 6, which was the firstSupernaturalseason without Erik Kripke at the helm.
The Time Jensen Ackles Roasted Fairy inSupernatural
Episode 9 of season 6,Clap Your Hands If You Believe, follows the Winchester brothers’ investigation over the ongoing abductions, which many felt were a result of aliens. But later in the episode, it was revealed that the abductions were the doing of fairies, and in Dean’s eventual face-off with a fairy,Jensen Ackles‘Supernaturalcounterpart ends up microwaving her.
“It’s disturbing how attractive I find her”: Forget Jensen Ackles, Supernatural Has 1 Actor Who Is Disturbingly Young for Her Character
Although the graphic execution of the fairy isn’t exactly shown, in a bizarre fashion, this was arguably one of the funnier moments in the show. Not only does the whole interaction escalate after Dean notices the fairy’s nipples, whose delivery makes it hilarious, but the entire episode is glittered with such humorous instances, which explains its 8.3IMDbrating.
Eric Kripke Was Bewildered by Season 6 Discussions
WhileSupernaturalwent on to run for several more seasons before concluding the Winchesters’ story,Eric Kripke, who kickstarted the TV giant, stepped back from his duties as a showrunner after season 5.The Boysshowrunner later detailed that he initiallypitchedthe show as a five-season story, as he wasn’t confident if (viaIGN)“the show would go five years”.
“I don’t think that ending would make sense anymore”: Even Jensen Ackles Has No Idea about Eric Kripke’s Original Plan for Ending Supernatural at Season 5
However, considering that the CW kept on greenlighting additional seasons, the showrunner recalled being bewildered by discussions surrounding a sixth potential season.
Because I have low self-esteem, I never dreamt the show would go five years. And so I had a five year plan, and now I’m here in the fifth season and it’s doing well and I’m like the girl with glasses in the teen comedy. Everyone wants to go into a sixth season and I was a little bewildered by it. I think that’s why earlier I was so adamant about saying, ‘It’s five seasons!’, was because I never thought we’d go this distance.

Following his departure, the latter seasons were helmed by Sera Gamble, Jeremy Carver, Robert Singer, and Andrew Dabb, and the show cemented itself as one of the biggest hits in CW’s history.
Supernaturalis available to stream on Max.
