Metal: Hellsinger is the first game of its kind; a mix between a fast-paced FPS likeDoomand a classic rhythm game. It gives all the fun of dashing about and blasting demonswhile jamming to the beat of well-known metal artists. It was hard to not love the very concept. This odd combination drew in eyes and let the game attract quite the fanbase, but with a somewhat shorter run time, fans are left with only a little taste of this blend of action and song.

While there is nothing truly like it, there are plenty of games that can hopefully please any fans who enjoyed different aspects of the game. We’ll go through some of the main things that may have drawn people to Hellsinger and send them to games that may be up their alley. No matter what you loved Hellsinger for, there should be something here for you.
10Darkest Dungeon
If Hellsinger’s brutal demonic aesthetic was for you, thenDarkest Dungeonoffers up a similar look, albeit darker and with a touch of eldritch horror. In Darkest Dungeon, you find yourself returning to your family home to find the area taken over by Lovecraftian nightmares. You must assemble a party of unlucky adventurers to slay the terrible beasts and end the nightmare.
While the look may have some similarities, the tone could not be more different. Darkest Dungeon is a game that never goes easy on the player as you’ll fail many missions, have your party go insane and barely make it out, or perish against the demons. Be prepared if you decide to give this spooky experience a shot.

9Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
For those looking for something that goes extra hard with its soundtrack, you can’t go wrong withMetal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The spinoff to theMetal Gearseries takes a drastically different tone, taking that somber music and story and switching it for the most off-the-wall and insane stuff ever.
The game has a metal soundtrack unlike any other, bringing in talented artists such as Machine Head to create fantastic themes for each of the boss fights. Not only are these themes incredible on their own, but they also go further by bursting into lyrics when each fight reaches the highest point, making for an unforgettable music experience.

Superhotis another game that flips the FPS genre on its head with one simple gimmick: Time only moves when you move. This transforms the game from a frantic test of reflexes to a careful puzzle of reload times, ammo counts, and closing the distance. Each level is a unique intellectual challenge and there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your hard mental work translated into a real-time replay that makes you look like a total action hero.

The game is certainly quite the shift from Hellsinger though, with the over-the-top demon invasions replaced with monochrome simulations. But if you can deal with a much slower and more mellow experience, Superhot is definitely worth a playthrough.
7Rhythm Doctor
For those looking for more simple rhythm games, Rhythm Doctor has your prescribed fix. Where other rhythm games can be hard to get into compared to Hellsinger due to complex controls and inputs, Rhythm Doctor keeps it simple with only one button controlling the game. All you have to do is hit the button every 7th beat! Sounds simple, right?
Well, Rhythm Doctor is deceptively simple as while it starts out easy enough, that 7th beat mechanic gets pushed to the limit to create some tough challenges while never asking for more than keeping up with the rhythm. For those who enjoy Hellsinger’s simple rhythm gameplay, Rhythm Doctor is here.

6Rhythm Heaven
If you want another rhythm game without too many complex controls, you may’t go wrong with the granddaddy of simple rhythm games:Rhythm Heaven. All the titles in this series promise a collection of quick rhythm-based mini-games that are easy to learn but hard to master along with remixes that throw them all together into one challenge.
The game sports a much more wacky aesthetic than Hellsinger, so you should keep that in mind, but it’s also something that’s hard not to fall in love with as each mini-game sports its own wacky set of characters and scenarios. For those wanting to practice their rhythm skills with something lighter, any of the Rhythm Heavens will do!

Dusk isa modern imagining of FPS gameslikeQuakewith its own additions and horror aesthetic. The game has three campaign episodes each having unique challenges and plenty of enemies to mow down.
Much like the games of old, Dusk throws out anything but the bare essentials. You have a load of weapons, speedy player character, and enemies in front of you, you know what to do. Much like Hellsinger, Necrodancer’s main gimmick is that you can only move around to the beat of the music, keeping you on your toes and forcing you to think faster.
The game has plenty of items to collect, characters to unlock over your runs, and deadly musical bosses to face throughout the Crypt.
