10Night’s Edge
Night’s Edge is one of the strongest pre-hardmode weapons in Terraria. It’s a blade that can be crafted using other swords that you may have already acquired during your journey, combining them at a Demon Altar.
Night’s Edge deals a very solid 40 melee damage with a fast swing speed. The buff it received in the Labor of Love update added a bit more range and a lot more damage, effectively turning it into a fan favorite. Additionally, Night’s Edge has a unique design that makes it a popular choice among Terraria fans. It becomes effectively useless in Hardmode, though, as you’re presented with a variety of better options.
9Life Drain
Life Drain is a magical weapon that has a decent chance to be dropped by a Crimson Mimic during Hardmode. When firing, the Life Drain can target multiple enemies and damage them, while also healing you for a small amount of health. This makes Life Drain a great choice if you like to stay mobile during combat or remain a safe distance away from enemies.

8Death Sickle
The Death Sickle is a melee weapon that can be obtained by killing Reapers during a Solar Eclipse. It has a 2.5% chance of being dropped by the enemy, making it a relatively rare find. When used, the Death Sickle creates a flurry of spinning purple projectiles that can pass through blocks and enemies, making it a great choice for taking on groups of enemies or those hidden behind cover.
It’s highly effective to use during an event such as the Pirates Invasion, where you can safely hide in a bunker while using this weapon to clear out oncoming waves. Its extreme versatility and its ability to stay useful even during the endgame makes this one of the strongest weapons Terraria has to offer. The Death Sickle does lack damage in boss fights, however, making it a situational weapon for the most part.
7Spirit Flame
The Spirit Flame is yet another magic weapon you may acquire during early Hardmode, capable of demolishing almost everything in its path. It can shoot out small purple homing projectiles that deal a massive base damage of 85 each. Couple that with a solid fire rate and a decent range, and you’ve got yourself a weapon that is highly effective against the mechanical bosses and good enough for any boss that comes after.
The only downside of this weapon is that it’s so difficult to obtain. The crafting materials for it are rare and time-consuming to find, and traversing the early Hardmode desert for a very specific material is a nightmare with pre-Hardmode equipment.
6Piranha Gun
The Piranha Gun is a post-plantera weapon that deals ranged damage in a rather unique way. It launches three piranhas that lock onto and stick to enemies until they die, or you let go. Out of all the biome chest weapons, the Piranha Gun finds itself in the best spot.
Some Terraria fans might disagree, but if you use it for a while, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to use and the massive damage you may deal. It can destroy rows of enemies and is even great at taking out bosses, all without the need for aiming. Its damage falls off very soon, though, so it’s only at its formidable best for a short time.
The Flareon is one of the most fun and satisfying weapons to use in Terraria. It’s a flail weapon that you can obtain as a drop from Duke Fishron, one of the toughest bosses in the game, which is a testament to how powerful it is.
Firing it launches a ball and chain along with multiple bubbles (up to 25 tiles away) that home onto enemies to deal a devastating amount of damage. Its strength lies in its versatility, as it’s great for single-target damage and equally effective with clearing crowds of enemies. All these factors make Flareon a fan-favorite and for good reason. Not many Terraria weapons top this one.
4Daedalus Stormbow
The Daedalus Stormbow is a unique ranged weapon that can fire arrows from the sky in quick succession. It’s a weapon that has seen a myriad of nerfs in its lifetime, but can still hold up as one of the strongest weapons in the game. It can deal a decent amount of damage with regular arrows and is quite versatile when using different arrow types for different enemies.

When used in combination with Holy Arrows, the Daedalus Stormbow becomes extremely powerful. They make it a weapon that can take down even the toughest enemies and bosses in Terraria with relative ease. Nonetheless, all those nerfs have taken something of a toll on it.
3Razorblade Typhoon
Like the Flareon, the Razorblade Typhoon is also a drop from Duke Fishron. It’s a magical weapon that fires homing projectiles similar to the ones that Fishron fires at you during the boss fight. These projectiles can deal massive damage and can also pierce multiple enemies, making it extremely effective against large groups.
It requires almost no effort to use and remains viable until the end of the game. It can be especially overpowered if you manage to beat Duke Fishron early in the game (which isn’t impossible but can be very difficult indeed without the right equipment). However, the struggle will be well worth it since you’ll have a weapon that can be used incredibly effectively in a variety of combat situations.
2Terraprisma
The Terraprisma is a summon weapon that can be obtained bydefeating the Empress of Light during the day. If you fight her during the day, every attack that she throws at you can one-shot you out of existence. It’s well worth it, though, for the Terraprisma, arguably the best summoner weapon in Terraria.
When paired with summoner-boosting accessories, the Terraprisma outshines almost every other weapon. It can deal destructive amounts of damage without the need for aiming, and since it’s a summon, all you need to do during a fight is to focus on dodging. It gets bonus points for how amazing it looks, too, making it one of the best weapons in the game.
The Zenith is the absolute strongest weapon in Terraria. Crafting the Zenith requires you to beat the game multiple times. It deals the most damage, has the most range, can go through blocks, and has an extremely fast fire rate. It can destroy anything in its path with relative ease, from bosses to waves of enemies.
The Zenith isn’t just a weapon: it’s a symbol of power and prestige. With its unique design and incredible damage output, wielding the Zenith is like holding the very essence of Terraria’s combat in your hands. When firing the Zenith, you see the sprites of all the swords used to craft this legendary weapon (crafting being a heavy focus of the title), highlighting each stage that brought you to the end of your journey.
