Spy x Family is celebrated for its perfect blend of action, comedy, and heartwarming moments in a setting that seems too weird to be true on paper. There are certain aspects of the series that push the boundaries of common understanding. It seems normal for a comedy-based anime, but in the end, it sticks out to the observant viewer.
Many events are not of substantial impact and can just be glossed over. However, the most noticeable one, and the one that irks the fans the most among all of them, is Yor Forger’s portrayal as a world-class assassin.
Yor’s character breaks the assassin’s trope
The series has a seemingly ignorant and naive view of Yor, and the series conveniently ignores one of the most crucial skills an operative of her caliber should possess, the skill of seduction for infiltration.

Yor’s less the “makes you mysteriously disappear one night” kind of assassin and more the “Warhammer 40k Eversor” type. She’s an instrument of terror and intimidation, the only stealth she needs is the kind where you simply don’t leave witnesses.
For someone who’s portrayed as a deadly professional assassin capable of taking down multiple enemies with ease, it is weird that she wouldn’t be trained in the arts of seduction and sweet talking.

Not to mention, Yor seems to be extremely attractive, it would be unclear as to why her charms wouldn’t be weaponized along with honing her skills. All of this casts doubts about her skill set as an assassin.
Seduction is one of the most commonly depicted tactics of both a spy and an assassin in fiction. In the first episode itself, we see Loid employ such tactics and gather information about the target from his daughter (whom he has dated for six months). Such a thing is seen as very normal and seems to be the norm.

From James Bond to Black Widow,secret operatives often rely on charmto get close to their targets and obtain the information they require, instead of brute forcing it like Yor. Such a thing makes her seem more like a hitman and less like an assassin.
