If there’s one thing that the MCU loves doing, it is placing a bunch of easter eggs in its movies for fans to ponder later. Right now, we will be diving into theAvengers: Infinity Warmovie which came out in 2018. There is one major hidden easter egg involving Doctor Strange that not many caught onto, even years after the movie’s release. Let’s take a look at it!

Doctor Strange hid the time stone away from Thanos

In theInfinity Warmovie, Doctor Strange, portrayed byBenedict Cumberbatch, would play a pivotal role in the Avengers’ quest to defeat the mad Titan, Thanos. At one point, Strange was asked to go through every single possibility using the time stone to find a way to eliminate Thanos.

We all remember when Stephen Vincent Strange came out of a trance revealing that there were 14,000,605 outcomes of Thanos’ devious plan and that only one saw the Avengers emerge as the victors. Just before Strange went into a trance, he summoned the time stone from thin air.

It turns out, Strange intentionally hid the time stone among the stars to keep it away from Thanos. The latter happened to be under the notion that the time stone was safely kept in the Eye of Agamotto. The intent was to make sure Thanos didn’t easily grab it off his body during the final battle on Titan.

Interestingly, not many people caught on to the easter egg despite it being six years since the movie’s release. Here’s what a few fans had to say on Instagram,

That’s insane dude I never noticed that. I always thought he just pulled it out of a picket dimension or something.

I thought he just made it appear from inside him or [something]. Never knew it was from the sky.

However, it was this very scene that also sent the entire world into a frenzy for a whole other reason. Having gone through every possibility, fans questioned why Strange did not use the time stone to alter the course of reality in that particular timeline.

When will the third Doctor Stranger movie released?

The MCU released a follow-up movie to Doctor Strange’s debut film, calledThe Multiverse of Madness, in 2022. As expected, the sequel instantly became a hit. However, the return of Stephen Strange is uncertain.

A few sources claim that a third movie is in the early stages of production while Benedict Cumberbatch claimed that he knew just as much as anybody else (viaThe Economic Times).Charlize Theron, who played the role of Clea in the second movie also claimed that she wasn’t contacted by Marvel yet.
