At the 35th Annual Palm Springs International Film Awards, the actor was presented with the Desert Palm Award (Best Actor) forOppenheimer.As seen on theiHollywood TV’sYouTube video, the award was presented to the actor by none other than his co-star Robert Downey Jr.! During his acceptance speech, Murphy couldn’t help but get emotional about getting the award as he thanked his family for putting up with his absence.
“I don’t ever really get to do this too often. I wanna say ‘Thanks’ to my family. Two-thirds of them are sitting down there. We had to leave one of them at home ’cause he’s doing exams but just thanks for putting up with me.”

The actor further continued,
“Uh, putting up with the kind of half me and the shadow me and the absent me and the remains of me when I’m doing a film like this or work in general. You’re always there and I love you for it”

With his dear friend and co-star Robert Downey Jr. bestowing the award to him, theIron Manstar was also out of words for his colleague. Stating that Murphy was an anomaly, Downey Jr. had quite the words for his co-star!

“I feel kind of like I blew it because I didn’t write anything and I’m not going to make an excuse…[Cillian Murphy] He is an anomaly.
