One of Hyrule’s most formidable enemies, Lynel, has been defeated by a player in a single shot. The monumental feat was all down to an explosive contraption that was created by one player, leaving theTears Of The Kingdomcommunity in disbelief.

Taking to the Tears Of The Kingdom subreddit earlier this week, userAcademic-End-8096showed off their one-hit creation. The user pointed out that no glitches were required to create it. Instead, they appear to have simply fused together roughly 20 bomb barrels and absolutely barraged a Lynel from above. The whole battle (if you can even call it that) was over in a matter of seconds. In fact, the Lynel was defeated so quickly it’s hard to tell what color variant it was, but just before it dies, you can see that it’s the most basic variant of Lynel. Still, an impressive feat nonetheless.

Xbox players are better off not touching it for a while.

The clip begins with the player plummeting toward the ground. Shortly after, this mega bomb contraption comes hurtling past the player before landing exactly on top of a Lynel. The explosion then takes out the red Lynel before the player has even reached the ground. You can check out the impressive clip for yourself below.

As for how it’s done, it’s speculated that the user simply fused together some bomb barrels and saved it using the auto-build mechanic. Then, when they came across some more barrels, the user could simply fuse another to the device and overwrite the previous one.

However, this also isn’t the first time that a Tears Of The Kingdom player has created a giant explosive device like the one seen above. Back in 2023, Reddit userFvi72_K41U2showed off their “mega barrel bomb” on the Tears Of The Kingdom subreddit. The user did note that although it “packs a punch”, it wasn’t enough to finish a normal Lynel.

How exactly the explosive device is now able to defeat the Lynel in a single hit is unclear, but it’s possible that it was the combination of the actual explosion and motion damage from the momentum of the device falling from the sky. It’s certainly a long-winded way to take out a Lynel, but definitely one of the more interesting ways to do so.
