Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers from Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2.

The remaining two episodes of Stranger Things season four are finally out onNetflix. With episode 8 being one hour and twenty-five minutes long and episode nine having a runtime of two hours and thirty minutes, it feels like watching two movies one after the other. Part one of season 4 left us with so many unanswered mysteries, but now that season four has come to an end, we have answers for most of the questions.

With so much going on in the show, it’s hard to keep a track of everything that’s going on. Remember the part when the kids had a discussion about Vecna and everything about the four kills? Well, that might be something that viewers might have a hard time getting a hold of. We have an answer that might curb your curiosity.

Just like Max and Chrissy, Nancy had her share of a hard time with Vecna. Just the difference is that he wanted to use Nancy as a messenger to tell Eleven about the visions she saw. After gaining her consciousness back, Nancy had a discussion about her visions with others in which she saw roads breaking apart in different directions and the whole of Hawkins town turning into a big pile of rubble and burning like hell.

While sharing her experience, Nancy tells them about the four gates that Venca showed her spreading in Hawkins. She further adds that it felt like she wasn’t seeing the upside-down world but their own town. As the gates spread in Hawkins, both the worlds seem to be merging and finally becoming one. In simple words, Vecna needs a total of four gates to take over Hawkins and rule it.

Now, you must be thinking, why is Vecna killing people if he can take over the complete Hawkins? Well, in one of the previous episodes, it was revealed that with each person Vecna kills, he creates an opening to the real world. And with Chrissy, Fred, and Patrick McKinney already being his victims, he is just one kill away from creating the fourth portal.

Here’s another thought that must be popping into your head. Why didn’t Vecna kill Nancy? The most obvious answer is that he is challenging Eleven for a fight. That’s the reason he wants Nancy to share her visions with Eleven. Moreover, Max observes that Vecna’s clock always chimes four times which indicates the four kills he wants. Then she adds up that he has been telling them their plan this whole time. After Eleven appears to save Max, Vecna says he was happy to see her there and wanted her to witness her friends dying before he ultimately killed her.
