The 45-year-old icon has also worked with multiple big-name actors in the industry over the years. But he’s most known for his role as Charles Xavier in theX-Menmovies.

While filming theX-Menmovies, McAvoy became great friends with the legendary Michael Fassbender. Commonly known for his role as Magneto, Fassbender, much like McAvoy became an immediate fan favorite following the release ofX-Men: First Classin 2011.

McAvoy revealed that the individuals who booed him eventually walked out of the theater and that it happened more than once. He revealed that the play was calledOut in the Openand that the incident had taken place in 2001.

On being asked if the rest of the audience ostracised the hecklers, he said
I remember the first person who did that, his wife hit him and told him to shut it. And that’s why he left. I don’t know if she said shut it, but she told him to stop.

Horowitz also seemingly appreciated the woman who stood up for James McAvoy. But this is exactly how the Fassbender-McAvoy fan fiction lovers would’ve felt at that moment.

If they (MCU) want me to come back, they need to talk to me and need a good script (ViaScreenrant).
Even Fassbender shared his thoughts on making a return. While he believes Magneto’s run has come to an end, he hasn’t fully closed that chapter of his life just yet.
The MCU could approach them and include them in the upcomingAvengersmovies, precisely theSecret Wars, which is set to release on June 23, 2025. With Marvel, one could never close the door on a deceased character.
