Finding Grandma is a random encounter. This means that it can happen anywhere at any time.There may be a time that you see her in the Freya Solar System and then again in the Sol Solar System. Her whereabouts are completely unknown and random. Considering she is a space explorer, this makes sense. You will be able to encounter her at any moment in the game. Some players may find her within the first few hours and others may not see her until they have beaten the game. Additionally, you are able to find her multiple times, meaning you do have the chance to visit her a lot.
