Southern Reachis one of the lengthier expeditions when collecting all the chests inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. The first two chests are very simple and straight forward, but the third will need you to employ a combination of some tricky traversal, some problem-solving skills and will make use ofBD-1’s Koboh Grinder ability.

Another ability you will require is theDash, but this comes even earlier than theKoboh Grinder. However, they are well worth the trip as they include a full length beard forCal’s face, some newcoloursto adorn and most enticing of all, theQuickdraw Blaster.
Chest 1: Full Beard
You will need to make your waySouthern Reach, which can be found onRambler’s Reachonplanet Koboh. The first chest is very strait forward and needs nothing more than making your way down hill where it sits out in the open at the top of a ridge. This beard will pair nicely with someJedi Robes.
Chest 2: Kashyyyk Paint
The Second chest is a little trickier, and the most likely one to miss of three. Instead of going strait forward from this point, you will need to turn the camera to the left as you approach the opening, to reveal a strait forward jump hidden behind thewaterfall.
Be on your guard though; the moment you get to this spot, there is anenemy waitingto attack you. Take it out andclaim your prize.
Chest 3: Quickshot Blaster
You will need to have already acquired theKoboh GrinderandForce Lift and Slamabilities before you’re able to open this chest. You will get them by naturally progressing through the story. Once you have them, head on over theMeditation PointinSouthern Reach. Make your way uphill toRambler’s Reach Outpostwith theskull out front.
Take a left, and you will see acave entrance blocked by a thicketof spiky vines. Head up the trail to the right of this entrance and keep going along this path until you are faced with alarge metal doorthat you can lift using yourForce Lift power.
It will bevery dark in here. At the end of the path, you’ll find a wall you may leap to it using both yourdouble-jump and a dash. Then, you willslide downthis wall using your lightsaber.
Make your way up to the platform with thelaser beamon it. Turn the camera until you see thespiky vinescovering up the exit to this chamber.
Move on over to the platform between the exit and thebeam. Once on top of it, you will be able to see anorbon the left side between the two points from where you came.
You will need to put thisorbinto thebeamto create a much largerbeam of energy. UseThe Forceto pull it to you and then throw it back in the direction of the beam.
You won’t need to make the shot all the way from the platform, so feel free tothrowit to the other side, hop on over after it, and then throw it into thebeamwith a second shot.
Thisbeamwill completely destroy thevinesblocking the exit and continue to travel all the way to one of the buildings you passed earlier.
Make your way over to where thebeamends and haveBD-1create a trail down the wall of the building and to the ground using theKoboh Grinder. Continue to make a trail in a strait line underneath the beam until it has passed theadjacent buildingand can have a trail made into itsopen door.
The trail ofpurple flameswill trigger a cutscene of thewhole building exploding.
Open up this chest, and you will berewardedwith theQuickdraw, acosmeticoption which you may use for yourBlaster.
Out of all of thesechests, the second is the most likely one of the lot to needBD-1’s map upgrade.
