The trailer forStar Wars: The Acolytehas finally dropped, and it once again whisks you away to a galaxy far away. Announced by Lucasfilm in 2020, it took the production four years to get off the ground, but it is finally here, and it looks good.

The trailer starts off with a group of younglings at the Jedi temple tapping into the Force. It sets an ominous tone as a former padawan tries to attack a Jedi master, played by Carrie-Ann Moss.
Moreover, it is revealed that something has been killing Jedi masters, segueing into an unknown individual wielding a red lightsaber as the other Jedi gear up for a fight.

On the whole, the series has so far been on the side of hopeful, with the good guys defeating the dark side. While later projects tried to show the more broken and humane side of the heroes, Headland’s will be slightly different.
Headland revealed thatshe took a great riskto tell the story from different perspectives.“We were obviously influenced by samurai films and wuxia films, but also films like Rashomon, where you see one story and then you see it done a different way,”she said (via The Hollywood Reporter).
It seems that Headland has stayed true to her word. The show will likely show the rise of the Sith towards the tail end of the High Republic Era. Unfortunately, not many are too happy about it.

The trailer for the show is interesting, and a good chunk of the fandom is happy that it will explore a different time period. The show is set for a double-episode premiere on June 4.
