For those unfamiliar, a Splatfest is a special in-game event for Splatoon 3. During the event, Splatsville gets a themed makeover and each player must pick a side, in this case, the options are grass, fire and water. Players will then be able to participate in Splatfest battles, helping their chosen side and earning in-game rewards at the event’s conclusion.

Naturally, the event has been timed to coincide with the release of the upcomingPokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetgames. They will be released on November 18, a week after the beginning of the Splatfest crossover event.

Nintendo is attempting to stir up passions ahead of the event in theofficial announcement post, probing players about their favourite starter types. With the popularity of Pokémon, there’s bound to be a lot of opinions flying around. They’ll have to be settled before November 13 at 4 PM ET / 7 PM ET when the Splatfest comes to an end.

Splatoon 3 has proved a huge hit for Nintendo, outselling every other Nintendo Switch launch in Japan. Our own Dean James heaped praise upon the game in his review, calling it “the best entry in the series to date.”
