Marvel’s Spider-Man 2gives a unique touch to the fast travel mechanic, getting rid of the point-of-interest trope and allowing players to basically fast-travel anywhere on the map.

Spider-Man 2: Where To Find The Nelson And Murdock Office

The attorneys at law are no more in Hell’s Kitchen? Here’s where to find the Nelson and Murdock office in Spider-Man 2.

While the mechanic is just a mere testament to the PlayStation 5’s technical prowess and is just fascinatingly seamless, it has received a mixed reception from the community. Fans are in awe of how well-designed it is but have refused to use it since they believe that swinging across the city is the real way to be a true Spider-Man. Not to forget, the extremely well-designed swinging mechanics bundled with the newly added web wings take the traversal to a completely new level.

How To Unlock & Use Fast-Travel

to unlock fast travel in Spider-Man 2, players will need tocomplete certain activities. New York is divided into several districts, and fast travel is unlocked in the game on adistrict-by-district basis. When it comes to the activities that you need to complete, they can beliterally anything, ranging fromPhoto Ops to Marko’s Memories and Symbiote Nests.

It should be noted that therandom crimes that happen in NYC do not qualify for district progress, so you basically need to do the static side activities in a district. This is a tad surprising but makes sense considering that often you will find yourselves in car chases and the developers probably wanted to eradicate any RNG from the unlocking process. Back to the special activities, each time you finish one, the district completion gauge fills up by a bit.

Now there arethree stages to a district completion, with thefirst stage awarding a couple of rare tech partsand thesecond stage unlocking fast travel. Once you havecompleted enough activities to unlock fast travel, you can simplymove your cursor to a location in the district andhold the Triangle button to fast-travel. The PlayStation 5’s blazing-fast SSD shows its true potential there, and you instantly get teleported to the location, without any loading screens. The way Spider-Man teleports adds a nice little touch too, as sometimes he will come gliding with his web wings or just come swinging in like the good ol' friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
