How To Dodge Successfully In Spider-Man 2

Every encounter you have with an enemy or boss in Spider-Man 2 presents the opportunity to dodge a series of various attacks and combos in order to avoid taking damage. If Spider-Man is about to be hit by an incoming projectile or receive a heavy blow, dodging will be your best friend in both of those scenarios.

to dodge successfully in combat, you need to watch out for a spiky semicircle appearing over either Peter Parker’s or Miles Morales’ head. This is Spider-Man’s Spider Sense that’s alerting you of an incoming attack that’s about to land.Pressing Circle will allow you to perform the dodge, but you must make sure you’re hitting the button when the Spider Sense is showing; otherwise, you risk performing the dodge too early and getting hit anyway.

If you’re surrounded by a horde, you can pressCirclemultiple times to perform multiple dodges to get out of the way, otherwise, you canweb zipby jumping withXand hittingXagain to zip. Additionally, pressingTrianglewill deploy a web strike and propel Spider-Man toward the targeted enemy, which is another way to get out of the way of an incoming attack.

However, there are a number of incoming attacks that can be met with a parry instead of a dodge in order to deploy an instant response attack, but we’ll get into that technique soon. Additionally, some attacks cannot be dodged, instead requiring a parry, including all incoming attacks that turn your Spider Sense from yellow to red as this indicates a heavy attack, especially from Brutes.

How To Perfect Dodge

In order to perform a Perfect Dodge successfully, timing is crucial. While paying attention to Spider-Man’s Spider Sense again, press Circle to dodge when the spiky semicircle turns redin order to get a Perfect Dodge. This can be tricky to nail and will take a few practices as the length of time the Spider Sense stays red is very short. HittingCirclewhen the Spider Sense is white will give you a reasonable dodge, but you have to react while it’s red in order to get a Perfect Dodge.

Spider-Man 2: 10 Tips & Tricks For Beginners

Spider-Man 2 takes everything established in the first two games and brings it all together in a new adventure; here are some tips for beginners.

How To Parry Successfully In Spider-Man 2

As previously mentioned, there are a number of attacks that can be parried instead of dodged in order to respond to the enemy’s attack with an instant one yourself, and therefore, gain an advantage on the battlefield. Performing a parry will also temporarily stagger the enemy and allow you to perform follow-up attacks.

Spider-Man 2 introduced this technique by allowing you topress L1 right before an attack hits you. you’re able to use Spider-Man’s Spider Sense again to gauge when an attack is about to hit, butyou’ll need to wait until the Spider Sense turns red in order to perform a parry, as hitting it when it’s white will be too soon. Similar to dodging, you will also be able to watch the character model and gauge yourself when they will attack. Every enemy, especially bosses with several phases, will follow a pattern of attacks and combos that you will get to know as the battle goes on.

Holding down L1 instead of pressing it when the Spider Sense is red will allow you to perform a block, which will only reduce the damage taken from the attack instead of parrying. This will only benefit your health bar, and it will not stagger the enemy afterward.

Blue Attacks Cannot Be Parried

A Parry only works on melee attacks and heavy melee attacks, meaning projectiles and gunfire cannot be parried. Additionally, any incoming attack that turns your Spider Sense blue means that the attack cannot be parried, and a dodge will have to be performed instead.
