Silent Hill 2is the latest classic video game to receive the remake treatment and it was well worth the wait. The game developers of Bloober Team took everything that made the original a success, paired it with the improvements that modern hardware offers today, and made something spectacular.

The beauty of a remake is that everything has been remade from the ground up, including the appearance of one villain that has long plagued the franchise and become a series mascot. The Red Pyramid Thing played a crucial role in the franchise and it is not undermined in the remake.
Who Is Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2?
Essentially, this villain comes from the protagonist’s imagination.Bloober Teamdid not waste a second and gave this iconic villain the modern touch it deserved, striking fear in the hearts of every player as it continued to remind James of his past transgressions. Every creature in the game that players will come across is a physical manifestation of James’ creative imagination.
This villain serves as a reminder rather than an active enemy roaming around waiting to be attacked by James. On their first visit to the town, James and his wife, Mary, went to the local museum where a picture of an old executioner was up for display.

This image stuck with the character and this figure later became the basis of how he imagined the Pyramid Head would look later in the game.

The town of Silent Hill had a dark past and it somehow got mixed up with James’ crazy imagination along with his equally darker past that later became his form of punishment to remind him of what he did. Spoilers for what happened in the original version, but this antagonist is unlike any other and James will be constantly reminded of what he did to his late wife.
Silent Hill 2 Players Will Have to Keep Their Distance From This Manifestation of Guilt
Whileacquiring a flashlightis important to see where James is going and help navigate the foggy town, it is best to avoid using it all the time since light primarily draws out more enemies and brings unwanted attention. Fortunately, this tool is useful if players stumble upon the Pyramid Head.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Review – Silence Is Golden (PS5)
This enemy has a long weapon that he can swing around and hit James from a distance. Players should run away and solely focus on surviving since they will not be fighting this enemy the first time, as the Pyramid Head appears at least three times in the game. The initial encounter is timed and running away from its reach seems to do the trick and it will be over in under three minutes.
On the other hand, players can deal enough damage to this boss and shorten the three minutes of terror to two minutes instead, but this method will drain most of their resources, which are hard to come by in this game. Each swing can deal an insane amount of damage to James and it is best to keep moving or dodging once he is within range of each swing.

The fight is hosted at the end of the Blue Creek Apartments inside a room full of cages. James will have to face the ultimate manifestation of his guilt and self-hatred and should start moving immediately. The flashlight can be used to track its movements and once it is out of view, players can listen for scraping sounds of a sword on a wooden platform.
Survive long enough and the Pyramid Head will leave James and return to get him next time. WhichSilent Hill 2antagonist are you most excited to see in the remake? Let us know in the comments section below!
