This accusation resurfaced around the time that Edebiri and Lopez were due to appear together onSaturday Night Live.

But Lopez’s name was part of a controversy in 2020 involving Ayo Edebiri who made some shocking observations about the singer’s music career.
Appearing in theScam Goddesspodcast four years ago,The Bearactor who also featured inSpider-Man:Across The Spiderverse,was asked to comment by host Laci Mosley about Lopez’s Super Bowl performance that year. In the course of the conversation, Edebiri claimed that theI’m Realsinger’s entire career was ‘one long scam’. She elaborated further by revealing the fact that theMaid in Manhattanstar used ghost singers for her songs.

Edebiri’s comment which resurfaced in 2024, was significant because she and Lopez were scheduled to share space onSaturday Night Live. TheEnoughactor though, did not feature in the Emmy winner’s sketches and appeared only as a musical guest. Both stars seemed to share a friendly rapport, with Lopez not having reacted to Edebiri’s comment to date.

In an interview withEntertainment Weekly, theOn the Floorsinger elaborated on the reasons behind wanting to represent this album cinematically, and how this perfectly depicted the various ups and downs in her life over the years.
“I was very inspired to make the music at this point in my life with all of the amazing things that have happened to me in the past couple of years and once the music was done, I thought, OK, this is very special. I want to do something special. I don’t want to just take the normal route and so, I created this cinematic experience.”

Lopez added that she was in the best place in her life mentally and emotionally, and believed that this was instrumental in her wanting to share these moments of growth and happiness with her fans.
