Bad news seems to be coming thick and fast in 2024, with recent news of yet another game having its servers terminated. The indie developer Devolver Digital, the makers ofWizard with a Gun, has recently announced its termination and is the latest game to succumb to such a decision. This is a huge shame, as the game was one of the most interesting games of recent years. The decision was announced through a statement to the developers’ X account on June 14th.

What Did the Statement Regarding Devolver Digital Say?
In the statement made to the official Galvanic Games X page, the developer reveals that althoughWizard with a Gunhas had a promising start, the sales for the game are not good enough to keep the studio open so“with a heavy heart”the company have had to make the decision to close the studio.

The statement goes on to talk about howworking with Devolver Digital was a“dream come true”for the company and that Patrick Morgan, President and Founder of Galvanic Games, is extremely proud of what they have achieved together.

Patrick Morgan also says in the statement he wants to help all those at the studio during the transition period and went as far as adding a link to the LinkedIn profiles for all of the current members of staff, showing he clearly cares a whole lot about his staff and their futures.
The statement finishes with a thank you and a hope that one day the companies’ paths may cross again in quite an emotional statement but also one of gratitude for the support and understanding. You can read the statement below:
