Ryan Goslingrecently shared thatSteven Spielbergcaught a glimpse ofThe Fall Guyand gave it his seal of approval. The 43-year-old star toldVariety:
“I don’t know Steven Spielberg. I thought there’s no way he’s coming to talk to me. And yet he kept getting closer, and then I thought I know what’s going to happen…I stood up and he gave me a hug and said, ‘I just saw “Fall Guy” and I loved it.’ As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t matter anymore what happens, Steven Spielberg liked it. That was an all time moment for me.“
Gosling didn’t expect Spielberg to approach him at first. But then the director got closer, and theBarbieactor realized it was happening for real. The 77-year-old hugged him and complimented Gosling’s work inThe Fall Guy.
This was a big deal for Gosling, making him feel like whatever came next didn’t matter as much because the co-founder of DreamWorks appreciated his work.

The Fall Guy,directed byDeadpool 2andBullet Trainfame directorDavid Leitch, is actually a remake of an ’80s TV series.In this flick, Ryan Gosling takes on the role of a Hollywood stuntman, working alongside a director who is his former flame, played byEmily Blunt.
So, when the main actor of their movie goes missing, Gosling’s character takes on the task of finding him. The Canadian star told the same outlet what makes this film so special:
“The stunts are amazing, they’re practical stunts. You can feel the difference. It’s such a love letter to movies and moviemaking and the people who make movies…It’s a very unique perspective on a genre of movie that we all love so much but it’s from a perspective you’ve never seen it, from the people who actually make it and how sort of much they’ve been taken for granted.”
The actor believes the movie offers a unique take on a genre we all love, showing it from the perspective of the people behind the scenes who often don’t get enough credit.
