FromSoftware’s next game could be further along than anyone realized. A leak posted byMP1stis claiming that FromSoftware’s upcoming title, codenamed FMC, will be ready by next year at the latest.

What Is FromSoftware Working On?
The FMC code name matches the internal code structure used for the Dark Souls and Armored Core series. This suggests it’sconnected to those franchises, which narrows down the list somewhat.
Mitazaki has confirmed that there won’t be a Dark Souls 4, but remasters or remakes of the earlier games are possibilities. Dark Souls 2 could use a fresh coat of paint, while Dark Souls 3 celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026, so that could be getting a remake or remaster.

The more likely answer is that this mystery game is anew Armored Core title. The Armored Core games tend to release spin-offs and side games between releases, so this FMC could be a new game that uses the same assets as Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. This could explain why the development time was so short, and why it hasn’t impacted the release of FromSofware’s other games in recent times.
More FromSoftware content is always welcome, especially anything that returns to its beloved franchises. It’s just a shame that this codename isn’t hinting towards aBloodborneremake or aSekiro: Shadows Die Twicesequel, as that would really get the fans excited.
